 Key Differences

Price Variation:  The prices of both mobiles’ phones have a noticeable difference. While the Samsung A51 comes in a significantly affordable package of £329, the Oppo Reno 4 5G denotes the price tag of £499. This makes the Samsung phone relatively much more budget-friendly and a good choice for midrange consumers. However, some of the specs in Oppo have been kept with greater distinction so it should be justifiable.

Display: The display factor in both Oppo Reno 4 5G and Samsung A51 has been integrated with top-notch quality. But Samsung leads in fewer elements including Resolution, size and refresh rate. On the real implementation, the results of the Samsung’s display are smoother, faster. But both phone’s display has AMOLED screen while the Samsung’s one is Super AMOLED. Ultimately, you would feel a clear difference in the display feel, speed, and performance in the Samsung A51 and Oppo Reno 4.

Processor: The processor inclusion in Samsung A51 and Oppo Reno 4 comes with a huge difference. Where in Oppo Reno 4, you get the Snapdragon 765G processor, the Samsung A51 sports an Exynos 9 Octa 980 processor. In term of GPU scoring, the Samsung’s Exynos wins and is tad bit faster than the SDG 765. However, when it came to GPU scores, the SDG765 was ahead of the Samsung processor. Overall, Oppo Reno 4g and Samsung A51 give a tough match to each other in diverse scenarios.

Marginal Differences

Camera: Although, the camera specs of both phones are not exactly similar, there is a relevance that you can find in them. The primary sensor is kept same leading to the 48MP main camera, while the Samsung A51 has one more extra lens in its rear camera setup. There is an ultra-wide camera lens included in Oppo Reno 4 which is the 8MP sensor, but in the Oppo Reno 4 5G, the wide camera lens is 12MP one. There are two extra in-depth camera sensors of 5MP included in the Oppo phone, but Samsung has only one. Plus, the selfie camera of Oppo Reno 4 also come with dual facing camera of 32MP with a 2MP sensor. The Samsung A51 has similar selfie camera but without any extra 2MP  lens for dual effect. Personally testing, the low-light photos in Oppo came out better and Samsung did well in the crisp detail of main camera lens.

Operating System: The operating system used in the Oppo Reno 4G is its own Color OS 7.2 which is actually based on Android 10. And the Samsung A51 itself features the Android 10 as its operating system. Mostly, the apps and layout of both phones comes off exactly like an android phone but there are changes in the style and UX.

RAM & Storage: The RAM and storage in an android phone surely elaborates the phone’s performance. The Oppo Reno 4 and Samsung A51 also resonate in case of storage, but the RAM gets an extra edge in Oppo phone. You get a massive memory of 8GB in Reno 4 while the Samsung A51 sports a 6GB RAM, which means both phones are going to deliver great multitasking. In real testing, Oppo wins when you start, execute or load any application. But most of the apps or programs opened at the same time. The storage is kept the same in both mobile phones which is the 128GB capacity for good number of files.

Design: Apparently, the design of Samsung A51 and Oppo Reno4 doesn’t look similar at all from outside. As soon as you take a glance at both of them together, the A51 seems shiny with its glossy surface. On the other hand, the Oppo Reno4 glimpses with its matte surface look. However, when you delve deeper into the material of the surface, both android phones are made with plastic.

In Samsung A51, you will find distinctive traits that Samsung includes in its high-end premium range. The front camera has infinity punch-hole, and the borders of the display are thin. The back side is entirely made out of plastic and the front is all glass with Gorilla Glass protection.

The Oppo Reno 4 is layered with a flat plastic back but the overall plastic frame is curved and has a solid base.  Even though, the back of the mobile is plastic, it does feel like a glass plastic and also have the reflection to it. The back cameras have a bump that looks and feels nice unless you are irritated by its outwards build.

Bottom Line

We hope we have cleared the air for those who were in a big confusion when it came to selecting one mobile out of these. Both Samsung A51 and Oppo Reno 4 5G share their similarities, however the clear difference tells it all. While Oppo shines in the performance, the Samsung gives a better result in camera and display.
